Music on your blog?

Posted by Michelle Laycock on Monday, November 26th, 2007

Some bloggers decide to put music on their blog. If you are blogging mainly for yourself and not for others, I see nothing wrong with that.

However, from a business perspective, music on a blog is not a very saavy move. Not everyone likes your taste in music. Not everyone wants the "noise" upon visiting (wakes the baby, etc.).

People are more likely to leave your blog if you have music.

I agree whole-heartedly with this advice, Michelle. When I go to a blog that has music playing, I immediately go for the mute button, easy to do on the desktop computer, not so easy on the laptop.

I have only dial-up available in my remote area, and the music is a real frustration, even when the songs are pretty. It comes through only in snippets, and it frequently crashes my browser.
