A few months ago, I had a request from one of my readers asking if I’d provide color swatches that can be posted along with projects in blog posts. The reader wanted a color swatch system that didn’t have anything else on it other than the colors and names of the colors… no other pictures, no references to any other company’s websites, etc. - just something to illustrate colors used in their projects.

I’ve come up with a nice system that I think will meet her needs and I’ll gladly share with others who may want the same.

From now on, I’m going to post some "Color Cues" once in awhile!

My color swatches:

• Don’t have any competing company references

• Have a transparent background - which means if the background of your posts is a color other than white, your background will be visible where you see the white areas in this color swatch. The purpose of this is to ensure that your blog post doesn’t look cluttered. My color swatch will be informational… it won’t look like another image in your post.

• Are small - so as not to compete visually with your art projects
