I figured out a cool trick for Typepad users!
Gwen Mangelson recently asked me how to take off the dates from her "Store" blog in Typepad.
Well…. you can’t. At least, you can’t unless you mess with the CSS in Pro. BUT…..
you can make them INVISIBLE!!!!
Just make the date font color the same color as your blog background and then you won’t see ‘em!!! ha ha!
In Gwen’s case, I made her dates white!
Cleaning up the list – Odds & Ends
Today got myself organized… Business cards/etc. are being finished with clients… I’ve got a good start on a few banners… It is good to get work crossed off my list! I’ve cleared away many post-it notes cluttering my desk and organized current customers in a notebook. Finished odds and ends… this and that’s that I promised to fix on so and so’s blog, etc. etc…. I’m ready to tackle the next round of banner designs!
I’m going to take a moment to mention lots of odds and ends I’ve been meaning to write up lately.

Organizing your Photos if you use Blogger:
I have a suggestion to those who use Blogger. You can make your Blogger blog photos work better for you if you use Picasa Web Albums to store your Blogger photos.
Here’s why:
- Its free
- Register your blog and all previous photos you’ve uploaded to your Blogger Blog will pop into the Picasa Gallery automatically
- You can organize/copy/create subject folders and move or copy pictures from your Blogger photo archive to individual folders which you can create slideshows for your sidebars.
- No need to upload a photo twice. Just move it into the slideshow gallery you already have set up and it will be added
- Integrate Picasa/Blogger with your Facebook profile or business page
- Tag and keyword all your photos to increase web SEO
Do you have a Blogger blog? Set up your Picasa Account today to make your blog photo uploads much more efficient!
That’s about it for now… back to work on banners! I’m looking forward to a productive day tomorrow!
Tutorial: Linking to your Facebook Profile from your blog
This Tutorial will teach you how to add a link to your Facebook Profile page into your blog sidebar.
Click on "Create a Profile Badge" at the bottom of your Facebook profile page.
BLOGGER USERS:
Click the Blogger icon.
Choose the Blog you’d like it to appear on and click on "Add Widget".
The Facebook profile badge will be added automatically. Just move it to where you want it to appear in the sidebar and click "Save"
TYPEPAD USERS:
The Typepad link icon is not working for me at this time. If you are also getting an error message, Select and Copy all the text in the code box.
Go to your Typelists
Choose a Notes list
Give it a name
Click on "Create New List"
Paste the code in the "Notes" field and Click "Save"
Click on Design
Then Content
Choose Your Typelists
Choose Social Networking (or whatever you called your new list)
A button will show up to Add Module. Click it. The module will show up below. Move it where you want it and click "Save".
WORDPRESS USERS:
Click on "Design"
Click on "Widgets"
Choose "Text" widget on the left by clicking "Add"
On the right, new Text module will show up. Click "Edit"
Paste code.
Click "Change"
Move module where you want it to appear.
Click "Save Changes"
You can use this tutorial for adding other sidebar items as well! Just substitute the Facebook profile code for any other code you’d like to add!
Favicon! Favicon! Favicon!
Want a favicon? Those with Typepad blogs can get a free favicon to match their banner!
What is a favicon? It is the little image that shows up in the url spot when someone goes to your site. Like this:
How to add a favicon to your Typepad blog
For those who would like to add a favicon for free, go to Favicon from Pics and simply upload a photo you’d like to use as favicon. It will shrink the photo and convert it to an ico file. Download the ico zip file. Upload your photo into your files and refresh your browser! (If it doesn’t show up right away, you may have to empty your cache.)
Favicon Fever!
Holy Moly it works!
Check out Typepad’s new feature: Blogit
The interface isn’t as nice as if you’d login to Typepad, but there is a button to click if you’d like your posts to appear on the mini-feeds!
This is a test… I’m posting this message from Facebook
I’m checking to see if Typepad’s new "Blogit" application works!
