If you are using a Mac, Download the Picasa software and add your images from your former posts into it.

Upload your images from Picasa software into Picasa Web Albums in bulk into your blog image gallery

Have your blog image gallery open and your blog admin open at the same time in two separate windows.

In each old post, toggle to html and change the image links from the Typepad link to the image link in your Picasa web album. Save

That's it.

You'll need a Mac and you'll need to know a little html to do this, but you can save some upload time this way.

We were chit-chatting about … stuff… and I had mentioned that I needed to take a look at my old (currently abandoned) Blogger blog to see if I had any links up there to Design Team companies I used to design for. I’d need to take those off to remain in compliance with the new IDA.

So… I go there… to my old stamping blog on Blogger… and guess what???

Without my knowledge, it was hi-jacked!

Yes! 

It was hi-jacked!

So… guess what, Blogger users… be careful, your blogs can easily be hi-jacked! And then your only alternative is to reset it up using a new url, which is exactly what I did.

It is up and running again here. And I made the old one private so no one will see spam when they go there.

It was a fairly easy fix for me. I was able to fix it in about half hour while I was multitasking…

but for those with Blogger blogs, Beware of the Evil Blog Hi-jacker!

Maybe it would be a good time to pay for a privately hosted Wordpress blog or invest in Typepad! 

One learns something new every day… I sure learned something today!

Organizing your Photos if you use Blogger:

I have a suggestion to those who use Blogger. You can make your Blogger blog photos work better for you if you use Picasa Web Albums  to store your Blogger photos. 

Here’s why:

• Its free
• Register your blog and all previous photos you’ve uploaded to your Blogger Blog will pop into the Picasa Gallery automatically
• You can organize/copy/create subject folders and move or copy pictures from your Blogger photo archive to individual folders which you can create slideshows for your sidebars.
• No need to upload a photo twice. Just move it into the slideshow gallery you already have set up and it will be added
• Integrate Picasa/Blogger with your Facebook profile or business page
• Tag and keyword all your photos to increase web SEO

Click on "Create a Profile Badge" at the bottom of your Facebook profile page.

BLOGGER USERS:

Click the Blogger icon.

Choose the Blog you’d like it to appear on and click on "Add Widget".

The Facebook profile badge will be added automatically. Just move it to where you want it to appear in the sidebar and click "Save"

TYPEPAD USERS:

The Typepad link icon is not working for me at this time. If you are also getting an error message, Select and Copy all the text in the code box.

Go to your Typelists

Choose a Notes list

Give it a name

Click on "Create New List"

Paste the code in the "Notes" field and Click "Save"

Click on Design

Then Content

Choose Your Typelists

Choose Social Networking (or whatever you called your new list)

A button will show up to Add Module. Click it. The module will show up below. Move it where you want it and click "Save".

WORDPRESS USERS:

Click on "Design"

Click on "Widgets"

Choose "Text" widget on the left by clicking "Add"

On the right, new Text module will show up. Click "Edit"

Paste code.

Click "Change"

Move module where you want it to appear.

Click "Save Changes"

 You can use this tutorial for adding other sidebar items as well! Just substitute the Facebook profile code for any other code you’d like to add!

Well, if you did, it wasn’t because you lost your keys.

One of my banner customers and many others this morning discovered their Blogger blog LOCKED! Ouch!!! What a fiasco!

This is what the dreaded Blogger message says:

Your blog is locked

Blogger’s spam-prevention robots have detected that your blog has characteristics of a spam blog. (What’s a spam blog?) Since you’re an actual person reading this, your blog is probably not a spam blog. Automated spam detection is inherently fuzzy, and we sincerely apologize for this false positive.

We received your unlock request on August 1, 2008. On behalf of the robots, we apologize for locking your non-spam blog. Please be patient while we take a look at your blog and verify that it is not spam.

I found out more information about Blogger locking blogs. Evidently Blogger has a robot that goes around and checks blogs and locks ‘em if they suspect a spam blog. But the dang thing appears to not work very well (or too well?)

The robot will sometimes come by if someone clicks on the "Flag Blog" in the blog bar at the top.

I guess recently lots of McCain supporters clicked on the Flag Blog button on Obama’s supporter’s blogs and the Obama supporters’ blogs got locked. But the robot can come by whether or not the "Flag Blog" was checked. The only way to fix it is to click on "Request Unlock Review" and it takes them 24 hours to respond.

Argh!

This isn’t the best time to be dealing with locked blogs – just when the Stampin’ Up! convention is underway. I don’t have any good advice for a quick fix. Sorry. I guess this is a good reason for some Blogger customers to find another Blogging service.
