New! Now offering Subscription Sites!
One of the newest trends I've noticed lately are groups of demonstrators getting together and offering projects by subscription.
I think this is an awesome way to not only share responsibilities of workload, it can also save money for each individual demonstrator as they offer the service to their customers through the website owned by the group. With a group of demonstrators working together, you can offer a much larger amount of projects and the quality will be better in general because the group members help each other. Teamwork! That's what its all about.
One way to offer subscription based projects is through password protected blogs like Typepad. There is one drawback to using Typepad for this, however. And it is a big drawback for those who need to handle large numbers of subscriptions and payments… Basically, Typepad has no way to keep track of subscribers, payment and subscription access. Administrators just give out the password for the month someone subscribes to. If you start racking up subscribers (a good thing, right?) you could easily go crazy keeping track of it all – who paid, who didn't, did they get the password, what if they lose the password, etc. etc.
Well, handling subscriptions will be no problem for Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and Jacque Craig and her downlines!!!
I recently just built a project themed, subscription-based website for Jacque Craig and her team – they are offering customers 10 projects a month and they needed a way to set up a database to handle transactions and access to the projects.
Jacque's Craft Project Central website can:
- take a subscription payment
- allow automatic instant access to the projects as soon as the customer registers and pays
- keep track of months a customer is subscribed to
- can allow customers an additional bonus page access if Jacque decides to provide a bonus project
- assist a customer with a password reminder or re-set a password without getting Jacque or her team involved in technical issues
- can be updated by administrators themselves – no need to rely on a webmaster
- can send promotional email messages to subscribers with links to sign up for the next month's projects
Jacque's website can do all this and more! What an awesome solution that meets Jacque's needs!
Jacque's new website is hosted by Amy Celona at WebsbyAmy.com.
I also wanted to mention that this design is based on the Stampin' Up! stamp sets "Vintage Vogue" and "Very Vintage" wheel. Notice the "F" with "Friends" next to it? Yep! I created that myself. Pretty cool how it echos the one in the stamp set! The green swirls in the background are in the Rococo style – similar to the swirls in the "Very Vintage" wheel.
