What EVERYONE needs to know about image harvesting and hot linking
I have had it on my long list of things to do to write an article about this important topic. Seems like Julie just beat me to it!
Image harvesting is copying and pasting an image from someone’s website and putting it on their own. Not Cool
Hot linking is linking to the image located on another website so that it appears on your own site. Not Cool
Please read Julie’s excellent article here. and her second article here.
Just a small word about the free demo buttons and such that I make available to everyone…
These are free indeed, and please feel free to download them and use them on your blogs without asking. What I do ask is that everyone please download the buttons and upload them on your own blogs. That is the correct way of using these free buttons. Please do not hot link them to your blogs. You’ll be stealing bandwidth from my blog host.
Thanks, Julie, for the awesome explanation! I couldn’t have said it better! ![]()

Creating outside my comfort zone
I just created a banner unlike any I’ve ever done before – thanks to Alison Monk!
Alison provided me an image of a print in her kitchen and wanted a banner in that style.
Here is the picture:

I’ve never done anything like that before… but said I could give it a try.
The only "country style" banner I’ve done was one in which a photo was provided.
So, after several drafts and some tweaking, we got the final banner for Alison that reflects exactly the type of person she is – right down to featuring her favorite Bible verse that her and her family live by.
Take a look:

wow! Now I can say I’ve done a country style banner!

Time saving plugin for Wordpress users
I’ve been using the Post Template plugin for the last month – testing it – and it is AWESOME. The plugin allows you to create an unlimited number of templates for posting information such as project recipes. If you design for several different Design Teams and you add their company information to posts in which you use their stamps, you can create a template for each company.
In addition, you can create a template out of an existing post.
I give this plugin the time saving award!

The plugin is free and is available to privately hosted Wordpress users such as those hosted by WebsbyAmy. The developer is Vincent Prat and he has developed several other plugins as well. Mr. Prat has a forum here to provide support for his plugins. Although, I didn’t need to use the forum because this plugin is easy to install and works perfectly without any problems!
I highly recommend this plugin!
