Both ladies were a joy to work with!
A new banner for Gerrie Johnnic fits her style!
Here is Gerrie’s new banner. Gorgeous, isn’t it? Gerrie showcases her incredible art work here in this banner. You may know Gerrie because she’s a designer for Technique Junkies.
Guest designer…
… for this banner is none other than Dave Geisler, friend, artist extraordinaire and gallery owner at 716 Fine Art. You can check out his gallery blog here. Awesome stuff there. He is incredibly talented. Upon brainstorming banner ideas for Gerrie, it was clear she wanted a banner that is more in Dave’s style than my own. Dave and I worked together on this banner. I designed the layout, the border, chose the font suggestions and did the shading on the fonts. Dave took the layout and played to his heart’s content with the photos Gerrie provided… adding the shade as well as adding a sepia tone to her beautiful art in his (and Gerrie’s) style.
The collaborative effort turned her banner into a showcase of her beautiful art.
Any graphic design work is a collaborative effort between customer, and sometimes several designers. This is particularily true in my day job, where ads are created for major companies as well as for the Women’s magazine we publish. Sometimes several designers meet and discuss ideas to meet the customer’s needs. Sometimes many revisions are made by different designers before the ad even reaches the customer.
Since I understand this business well, I provide the same service to banner customers as well. Bravo to Dave for his fine work! If you’re ever in Racine, WI, stop by his gallery for some eye candy!
Beautiful swirls for Cheryl
Here is my latest banner.
This one’s for Cheryl Powers ! I think this one is just lovely!
More information about my designs!
My designs are uniquely created for you. I have full competency using Photoshop and I DO NOT use many purchased brushes to create banners.
Photoshop brushes are great, but I use them sparingly because anyone can purchase a brush and plop it onto a banner! When this happens, banners begin to all look alike because the same designs are used over and over again on each banner. If you like having a banner that has the same designs as someone else’s great! However, for those that want their very own look, I offer a different kind of banner service where no 2 banners have the same design elements on them. I do use some brushes, but for the most part I rely on finding unique art!
Since you are paying me for a unique creation, you deserve more than brush work that looks like everyone else’s!
I’m working on a few more creations right now. I’ll post them shortly! Please stop by again!
Animated web ad design and custom coding rule the day!
Recently I was asked to create a vertical web ad for Alicia Ryckman. We decided since the size requirements for this ad are smaller than a previous ad she was using, that it would be better to make this ad animated so the text wouldn’t be too small to catch someone’s eye.
Are you thinking about doing some web advertising? Perhaps I can help. My rates are here, toward the bottom of the page. To see more ads I’ve created, click here.
Take a look at the bright, shiny colors in Alicia’s web ad! Watch for this ad on a website near you!

When Alicia’s web ad was finished, she asked about Landing Pages. She needed a landing page for a different ad she will be running. I built her a custom Landing Page for her web ad in no time.
Check out Alicia’s custom-built landing page I coded for her!
This service is perfect for you! If you need a Landing Page written, just ask me! I’ll whip one up for you!
A honey of a banner for Becky!
You’ll find sweet designs over at Honey B Designs! Here is Becky’s new banner. I created a honeycomb background for her banner and a logo she could use on other correspondence for her business!
Vellum, eyelets and a seal of approval!
Take a look at Debbie Seyer’s new banner. I put an overlay of vellum on top of her patterned background and "punched" little flowers in it to show through to the background below. Doesn’t it look like real vellum?
