How to make your banner in Blogger clickable!

Here’s a tip for today…
Would you like your Blogger banner to be clickable?
Using the Minima Template, here are some instructions:
Upload banner to posts area, save and copy/paste url …only …in Notepad or other text software, Microsoft Word is fine too. (Don’t copy the entire code, only the url code)
Example:
http://bp2.blogger.com/_BRSaSpa3Y1w/R8bxSkBgQsI/ AAAAAAAAAxY/phw7tceL0MY/s400/inkartist.jpg
Change s400 (or s320 ) to s800
Save
Under “Template”, click “Edit HTML”. Scroll down and towards the bottom, you will see these lines:-
<div id=’header-wrapper’>
<b:section class=’header’ id=’header’ maxwidgets=’
1‘ showaddelement=’no‘>

Change them to this:-

<div id=’header-wrapper’>
<b:section class=’header’ id=’header’ maxwidgets=’
3‘ showaddelement=’yes‘>

Delete this line:
<b:widget id=’Header1′ locked=’true’ title=’Ink Artist (Header)’ type=’Header’/>
Save
Go to Page Elements, and edit your element in the banner area and choose html
Put in <a href=”your url”><img src=”url link from notepad here”></a>
Save
Now to to template and html and change these lines to this:
#header-wrapper {
  width:900px;
  margin:0 auto 10px;
  border:0px solid $bordercolor;
  }
#header {
  margin: 5px;
  border: 0px solid $bordercolor;
  text-align: center;
  color:$pagetitlecolor;
}
Save

Surfin’ out of my comfort zone!

When Dianne Shiozaki presented her banner idea to me, I was amazed at her idea… a surfing and stamping banner! Living in Wisconsin, I have limited experienced with surfing… and I’ve never designed a surfing banner before. Dianne has a unique theme… first blog I’ve ever seen that combines surfing and stamping.

So I pulled up my long sleeves, turned on some Beach Boys music and did my best to include both fun hobbies in her banner! Take a look!

Everybody go stampin’… stampin’ USA!
